Nation observes Vietnam War Veterans Day

  • Published

Some 9 million Americans wore the nation's uniform during the Vietnam War period, including more than 58,000 who gave the ultimate sacrifice and more than 1,500 who remain missing in action and unaccounted for.

The Defense Department is assisting the nation in thanking and honoring these patriots and their families for their service and sacrifice, and continues to lead the search to locate the missing.
