Retiree Appreciation Days are a great source of the latest information for retirees and their family members. RADs vary from installation to installation, but most provide an opportunity to renew acquaintances, listen to guest speakers, renew identification cards, get medical checkups, and various other services.

Patrick Air Force Base in Florida is having its 30th Retiree Appreciation Day on April 18 starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m.  The event is open to all military retirees, or surviving family members.  Speakers at the base theater will cover subjects including legal, Disabled American Veterans, financial and other topics of interest to the retiree.  Retired Lt. Col. Shane Ostrom is the keynote speaker covering federal legislative updates on military benefits.  Tables will be set up with information and representatives to answer questions.  No reservations are needed. F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is having a Retiree Appreciation Day on April 18 at the 90th Medical Group Center starting at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Activities include an opening ceremony, guest speakers, breakfast, base tours, base historical videos, luncheon, and 24 various information booths.  Survivor benefit counselors, retiree pay issue representatives, and staff for ID cards will be available.  For more information, call the RAD office at 307-773-5944 or 307-773-2309; or the public affairs office at 307-773-3381.  Queries via email can be sent to retired Master Chief Petty Officer Mike Archer at
