VOLUNTARY RETIRED RETURN TO ACTIVE DUTY

VOLUNTARY RETIRED RETURN TO ACTIVE DUTY PROGRAM

The Voluntary Retired Return to Active Duty (VRRAD) Program provides retired Air Force Line of the Air Force officers and Enlisted Airmen, and those with an approved retirement, the opportunity to return to active duty to alleviate manning shortages. Detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures for authorized programs can be found via specific links below. Eligibility criteria and application requirements vary amongst each authorized program.

NOTE: The application processing timeline takes approximately 140 days from application receipt and is dependent upon the medical clearance process.  Receipt of “tentative assignment match” does not guarantee application approval.  Airmen should refrain from making any binding or irrevocable commitments due to a tentative assignment selection until Extended Active Duty (EAD) orders are received.
